Mohali, 28th March: Kolkata Knight Riders bit Kings XI Punjab with a great difference.
Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat first. The captain of Kolkata, Saurav Ganguly opened with Cris Gayle. Gayle faced the strike and makes 19 runs on the board in the very fast over of the speed master Brett Lee. This was the starting.
Then the Prince of Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly came back in form and showed why he is so much respected. He connected every shot properly. He scored fifty runs. When Sourav Ganguly got out, Manoj Tiwari kept the match in his hand.
Last 3-4 over, Tiwari proved that he has the power to play a lot of massive shots in a few seconds. Tiwari’s bat was blazing up to the last ball of Punjab. On that day belonged to Manoj Tiwary who bludgeoned an unbeaten 79 and then took a fantastic catch to send back the dangerous Yuvraj Singh.
Things went from bad to worse for Kumar Sangakkara’s Kings XI Punjab as they lost their third successive game at home on Saturday. Chasing 184, Punjab made 144-6 to give a comfortable win to the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Thus, Kolkata Knight Riders smashed the Punjab’s Kings in Punjab.
