WEST MIDNAPORE: An anti-Maoist operation rendered villagers homeless in the West Midnapore district of West Bengal.About 35 villages of Belpahari police station wore a deserted look as villagers fled to safer places with their belongings. It is assuming that once the operation is done, it would be possible for them to get back to normal lives.
Previously Inspector General of Police of West Bengal Surajit Kar Purakayastha, had said that the first phase of the operation had been successful to demolish several rebel camps and securing the confidence of the villagers. West Bengal and Jharkhand has jointly started an ongoing anti Maoists operation.
