Mandarmani Beach is an excellent weekend getaway from Kolkata. If you are tired of your daily routine, crowd and workthen Mandarmani beach can be the right choice. It is one of bengal’s recently developed tourist spot. You don’t find many visitors around.This beach is slowly becoming popular.
What can you do there? You can relax, swim, have sunbath and enjoy the beach. you can also do fishing, play tennis, carom,beach cricket, beach volleyball and enjoy boat cruise along with coconut water.
The best time to visit: winter is the best time to feel the sun kissed beach. Avoid April and May when its not too warm .
Best place to stay is Sana Beach resort!
How to reach? You can reach Mandarmani in 3-4 hours drive from Kolkata. The road is great. Only the last 15 km is village road. Also you can opt for Train from Howrah to Digha and arrange a car from Digha.

BEWARE GUYS WHO ARE THINKING FOR MANDARMONI.I went Mandarmoni on 7.1.2010 to 9.1.2010 and stayed in a resort called GARDEN RETREAT. Beware that’s the worst Rome service and hotel I have ever stayed.The beach is not very Virgin and crowded place full of touts.102 hotels are there but very poor infrastructure.Go there see Hotel then book never from Kolkata unless you book very renowned like Sana or Rosevalley.No power so ask hotel how many hours you can provide light/AC by generator.
Be very cautious.

i support you totally…this is a horrible place.When me and my fiance had planned for a holiday at Mandarmani we never thought this would await us.garden retreat had promised us a SEA-SIDE view(from balcony) cottage.when we reached we found out that the cottage allotted was nowhere near the sea.it was situated far behind where the only view was that of garbage.it was extremely cold.after asking several times we got a blanket.whenever we needed to call the hotel manager we had to use our own ph bills as there was no intercom.There was no table in the room and having room service dinner was a big problem.we could not sleep the entire night as there were strange sounds from above the cottage.The manager told us next morning that there were mice.we also spotted one underneath the bed.it was a dirty room with no basic amenities.food was standard..nothing great..and please if anyone goes don’t make any earlier payment because there are several hotels there to choose from.If you get the actual SEA-SIDE rooms then only stay there…Nothing is good abt the hotel
